Chadwick University in Alabama?Q. I am currently looking into distance learning through Chadwick. An aquaintaince of mine went from and Associates degree to an MBA. The part that seems interesting to me is that they do not require the humanities/ electives courses that the traditional school I last attended required. If any one has any experience on this school please respond. Thay are not regionally accredited, they are members of the USDLA (U.S. Distance Learning Association) Ever heard of it? A. Incidentally with the Heriot-Watt MBA you can go from no degree to MBA in a year!!!... in theory at least... and I'm sure that Heriot-Watt has a better rep. and\or acceptance rate than Chadwick... check out the North American Distributor's site... Dr. Bear and Co. Ltd... http://www.degree.net/mba (and I understand that the cost for the MBA can be as little as 5-6K US)... As you noted Chadwick is not accredited. Chadwick is also not allowed to accept students from its home state on Alabama. Go to http://www.dejanews.com and research other posts on Chadwick in this newsgroup. "The United States Distance Learning Association is a non-profit association formed in 1987 by Patrick Portway, Dr. Smith Holt of Oklahoma State University and Dr. Ralph Mills of California State University. The association's purpose is to promote the development and application of distance learning for education and training. The constitutents we serve include K through 12 education, higher education, continuing education, corporate training, and military and government training." As for being a member -- anyone can be a member. They do have both individual and institutional memberships -- I don't know if they screen the institutions at all.
