Is there drivers education in Georgia?Q. Is there drivers education in Georgia? I grew up in Illinois where you were required to take drivers education in order to receive a license. If you did not take the class, you were eligible to take the test once you turned 18 (which may be a better age to start kids off in this state judging by the way they are killing each other). A. Driver's ed was taught in Dekalb Co. high schools as a standard course in the 1970s. There was a Tilly Mill Rd. exit, right after Buford Highway and I-285 West, before it was closed off 8 years ago or so. Doraville had a driver's ed. facility near there that was a small simulated road. I believe the introduction of no-fault insurance in Georgia had something to do with the elimination of driver's ed. There isn't enough continuing lifetime driver's education in Georgia. Georgia takes the view of ceremoniously 'washing their hands' of anything that happens after releasing people on the highways who aren't properly educated roadwise. Look at all the stupidity. Things like stopping at every yield sign without yielding, not pulling into an intersection while making a left turn, while stopping behind the balk line, when the light is green and the person has the right of way. A lot of people don't know they have the right away when turning left and won't pull into the intersection. They weren't properly educated by the State of Georgia in the first place. I think there should be better drivers re- certification and education when a person renews their drivers license or even sooner. Let the State of Georgia take some of their Lottery money and help the drivers. Other Questions : Online tutorial for Kung FuSince I'm a fat bastard I decided to lose some weight.
