Nursing Continuing Education Course Online
Q. One of our drug reps just filled me in about a FREE CEU course about Central Venous Ports and Hickmans and the like. I got 3 credits for free! You read the text online and see great pictures. I took the test online and got my certificate in about 3 days. Go to "www.arcmesa.com" and choose continuing education and then nursing. The course is CENTRAL VENOUS CATHETERS. Let's me know what you are thinking of???
A. Our Open-Cath rep told me about this site, too. Abbott is picking up the tuition (otherwise $30!!!) for this online course. As an IV therapy nurse, this was a great program. I got 3 credits (they sent the certificate out in a couple days) and didn't have to pay anything. With what it costs to bring in visiting speakers, we'll be using this course as mandatory inservice for all our nurses who use central lines (units, oncology, dialysis, iv). I received this from the site administrator: "Thanks for using our site and I hope you enjoyed the course. We still have about half of Abbott's free courses remaining so spread the word to your RN friends." I got my CEU certificate a few days ago.
