Q. Has any information about Credit for Nurses?

A. Pantomime Publishing is pleased to announce a new continuing education study module for registered nurses, "The Professionalization of Nursing: A Sociological Perspective," CNE # O-AI-8021-06-96. This program describes historical definitions of professions and identifies the steps involved in becoming a profession. The program also identifies a sociological model of occupations vs. professions and discusses nursing's position along the occupation-profession continuum. This independent study-provider directed program has been approved for one contact hour by the Texas Nurses Association. TNA is accredited as an approver of continuing education for nurses by the American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Accreditation. This approval meets Type I criteria for mandatory continuing education requirements toward relicensure as established by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas. If you are interested in completing this program for continuing education credit, please send your name, address, and check or money order for $12.95 payable to Pantomime Publishing to the address below. (Please allow up to four weeks for delivery if paying by personal check.) You will receive a program booklet containing learning objectives, the program material, a program test, and a course evaluation. When you complete the course, send the program test and course evaluation to the address below (postmarked no later than June 6, 1998) and you will be sent a certificate reflecting your continuing education credit for the program.
