Q. Credit Card Risk Management Book? I am looking for a good book in credit card risk management. If anyone knows any good book or trainning, please suggest.
A. - Not sure if there's a text specific to this. I would recommend contacting major credit card organizations, including VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. There are a number of books which discuss risks of computer security, including credit card transaction risks. Among the better current offerings are: Bruce Schneier, _Secrets and Lies_, John Wiley & Sons, © 2000, ISBN 0-471-25311-1 Dorothy E. Denning, _Information Warfare and Security_, Addison Wesley, © 1999, ISBN 0-201-43303-6 Both books discuss more in the way of historic attacks and types of attacks against credit cards than specific remedies or measures for safe management of credit card data. Not sure if that's your question, it tends to be my own area of interest. Credit Card Risk Management was written for the novice analyst, in need of additional training resources. It is intended to provide a cost effective means for educating the analyst on the different facets of credit risk management and should be used as one component of the training regimen. This book discusses many concepts impacting the credit risk management process. Implementing any process or system addressed in this book requires more than a conceptual or rudimentary knowledge of credit risk management. By example, someone could write volumes on the implementation of each type of credit scoring system: mainframe, mid-range, client server, or desktop system, offered by each manufacturer. The complexity is increased by the varied work flow processes utilized by each credit card issuer. While my original plan was to fully address each aspect of the technical processes, it was not practical. ...and if the risk management and scoring arena is what you're specifically interested in, Fair Isaac (FICO) is almost certainly the definitive source of information. I'd start digging for trade publications, not sure where this body of knowledge lives. Much of it is likely closely held. FICO has been either under mandate or voluntary action, been opening up details of its scoring metrics for at least broad consumer credit rating tools in the past year or so. - An extensive bibliography on credit scoring can be found at http://stats.ma.ic.ac.uk/creditgroup/Financelist.html It lists a number of books.
